Trevor Johnson

I must thank the 2340 foundation for the very generous scholarship. I have used the gift to help obtain the equipment I needed to work on my studies. With the help of the foundation, I have been able to actively participate in Arizona State University activities and programs to the fullest extent. In the past year, I have been able to join a robotics team working towards an Undergraduate Mars Rover Competition. I have also been able to get into research with the Urban Climate Research Center at the university. I thank Marana for showing confidence in my abilities and my future which has allowed me to pursue success at the collegiate level.

Chalen Lozano

I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity given by the Marana 2340 Foundation by being selected for this award. I am proud of where I attended grade school and I always will. By preparing me for the future, Marana High School and the district itself has fulfilled my desire to learn for the future and so much more. I will be coming back in the future to volunteer at various Marana events as a future inductee of Phi Theta Kappa of the Pima Community College Chapter. To close, thank you to everyone involved in the Marana 2340 Foundation, I will never forget my 13 years in attendance here as a student.

As a senior at Marana High School in 2019 I was extremely fortunate to have received a MUSD 2340 scholarship. This scholarship allowed me to continue my education at the University of Arizona knowing that Marana was supporting me and had my back through this new chapter in my life. This scholarship allowed me to continue to pursue my passion of studying education with less strain on myself and my family. It allowed me to spend more time to focus on my studies and continue to strive for success and achieve my goals. Marana and the MUSD 2340 Foundation was very helpful in many ways and for this I am extremely grateful.

Kayla Fure

After receiving the Marana 2340 Scholarship and graduating from Mountain View High School, I started my freshman year at Dallas Baptist University. I am about to start the second semester of my junior year at Dallas Baptist University and am majoring in Biology. I am currently working as a laboratory technician in the biology department at DBU. I am hoping to attend medical school after I graduate from DBU as I am aspiring to be a neonatologist. I am very thankful for the Marana 2340 scholarship as well as the education that I received from the Marana USD. I am very grateful for the professors and programs at Mountain View High School that allowed me to be prepared for college.

Tyson Corner

After attending Twin Peaks pre-school, Coyote Trail Elementary School, Marana Middle School and graduating as Salutatorian from Marana High School in 2018, I attended my dream school, Babson College in Boston. Babson is a highly competitive private college and a world leader in entrepreneurship. Thanks to generous scholarship funds including the Marana Schools 2340 Foundation, attending Babson became a reality.

The opportunity and success I found at Babson brought great rewards. While I did not receive any merit scholarships from the college when I was admitted, I earned multiple scholarships after my first year including the Class of ’49 Scholarship awarded to students who are among the highest GPA earners and who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in campus activities, the Michael Sainovich Award given to a sophomore man and woman who, as a first-year student at Babson excelled academically and through involvement in activities, made significant contributions to the college community, and I currently have the highest GPA in Babson’s sophomore class.

Attending Babson allowed me to live my dream pursuing a career in finance, and I took advantage of wonderful opportunities including becoming a student worker in the Cutler Center for Finance, competing in college trade competitions, and as a contributing member of the Babson College Fund, which manages a $1.3 million endowment. I am an involved student leader on campus serving on the executive board for student government and the Babson Investment Banking Association. I am also a Resident Assistant helping other students make the most of their time at Babson. These positions have furthered my growth as a leader and given me meaningful extracurricular opportunities to support my goals. All of these successes were supported by the belief of the 2340 Foundation and their commitment to funding the educational aspirations of students who spent the entirety of their school days at Marana Public Schools. Thank you for your commitment and generosity in supporting students, like me, attend their dream schools and make these dreams a reality.

Hailey Breanne Albert

The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation scholarship has provided me with the support to pursue my career goals and obtain a college degree. With the help of this scholarship, I was able to begin my journey at the University of Arizona and achieve academic excellence. This gave me the opportunity to obtain multiple other scholarships through the university, supplementing my educational financial needs to complete my four-year degree. I will be graduating from the University of Arizona in May 2020 with minimal debt, thanks to the assistance of the 2340 Foundation scholarship, and pursue my dreams of attending medical school for my MD/PhD in the future.

Emily Faulk

Being a recipient of the 2340 scholarship in 2014 provided me with the opportunity to ease the financial burden of university tuition on my family and I. Because of this scholarship, I was able to put all of my time and energy into my studies. This money also helped to ease the difficult transition from high school to college.

Since receiving this scholarship, I graduated from the University of Arizona in December 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with a minor in Psychology with a 3.8 GPA. I now am working at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona in the Trauma ICU.

Cassandra Brandriff

The resources provided by Marana’s schools and community are a significant reason that I chose to study education, and the support of the 2340 Foundation helped allow me to learn from distinguished professors in an intense, out-of-state program. On those occasions when I’m not sure I can cut it as a teacher, it is not the foundation’s money, but their faith in me, that keeps me working. Their kindness makes me proud to be a Marine graduate.

Courtney Coronado

I was awarded the 2340 Scholarship in 2016. I am currently in my last year at Northern Arizona University with a major in Public Health. Next semester I will be finishing up my undergraduate degree by interning with the Boys and Girls Club of Flagstaff and administering programs to improve their health education on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, and injury prevention. I plan to graduate in May 2020 and continue on to get a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. I have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA throughout all four years while making the Dean’s List three times. This scholarship helped offset the costs of schooling for me so that I could reduce my financial stress. I was able to focus on school and transition into college life my freshman year instead of getting a full time job. This scholarship helped me start my educational journey in a positive, stress free way.

Taylor Armer

I graduated from Marana High School in 2014 and went on to earn my bachelors from Grand Canyon University. Thanks to all the duel credit classes Marana Unified School District offered I was able to graduate in three years. The 2340 Foundation scholarship was a huge help in alleviating some of the financial burden of my degree. I have found a successful career in Public Relations and have worked in the field for the past three years. I am still very honored to have received such a scholarship from my hometown school district!
