The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation (2340 Foundation) held their seventh annual Celebration of Excellence luncheon on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, 15000 North Secret Springs Drive, Marana AZ.

Dan Marries, KOLD-Tucson News Now anchor, acted as Master of Ceremonies. The event included lunch, presentations and celebrations of excellence.

Outstanding Staff Awards were awarded to three MUSD employees:

  • Karla Clapper, Teacher, Roadrunner Elementary School
  • Linda Bell, Secretary, DeGrazia Elementary School
  • Kristina Brewer, Principal, Roadrunner Elementary School

Outstanding Staff Awards sponsored by Chasse Building Team, Waste Management and Arizona Furnishings.

The 2340 Foundation also awarded scholarships to eleven MUSD high school seniors:

  • Marana High – Ashlyn Crews, Kiara Earley, Danielle George, Chalen Lozano, Catherine Sorensen
  • Mountain View High – Madison Brown, Isaac Castillo, Trevor Johnson, Corinn Olson, Jessica Williamson
  • MCAT High – Margo Cenac

The 2020 Marana High School and Mountain View High School Hall of Fame inductees were also recognized:

  • Marana High – Jonathan Hagmaier, Matthew M. Muller
  • Mountain View High – Pam Simon

 The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation held the sixth annual Celebration of Excellence luncheon on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, Marana, AZ.
In keeping with the 2340 Foundation’s commitment to support the outstanding work being done in the Marana Unified School District (MUSD), the event recognized student academic achievement, and employee and alumni excellence. Dan Marries, KOLD-Tucson News Now anchor, acted as Master of Ceremonies. The event included lunch, presentations, and celebrations of excellence.
At the luncheon, three MUSD employees received Outstanding Staff Awards:

  • Stephanie Barger, Teacher, Estes Elementary School
  • Mary Butler, Health Aide, Roadrunner Elementary School
  • Colleen Frederick, Principal, Estes Elementary School

Outstanding Staff Awards were sponsored by Chasse Building Team, CORE Construction, and Arizona Furnishings.
The 2340 Foundation also awarded scholarships to eleven MUSD high school seniors:

  • Marana High – Rhiannon Becher, Dyllon Enos, Sabrina Lee, Lillian Romero, Ashley Taoka
  • Mountain View High – Grace Hala’ufia, Lily Pepe, Lynnae Ponce, Isabella Rasmussen, Hailey Tellez
  • MCAT High – Kayla Hayes

At the luncheon, 2019 Marana High School and Mountain View High School Hall of Fame inductees were recognized:

  • Marana High – Davina Fankhauser
  • Mountain View High – Dr. Thomas Desmarais

The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation hosted their 3rd annual Celebration of Excellence luncheon on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, AZ.In keeping with the 2340 Foundation’s commitment to support the outstanding work being done in the Marana Unified School District (MUSD), the event recognized student academic achievement and employee excellence. Craig Thomas, anchor and reporter for KOLD-News 13 and FOX 11, acted as the Master of Ceremonies. The event included lunch, presentations, and celebrations of excellence.Outstanding staff awards were presented to the three MUSD Employees of the Year:

  • Kristin Stutzman, First Grade Teacher at Quail Run Elementary;
  • Dr. Eric Abrams, Principal at Ironwood Elementary;
  • Amy Moore, School Secretary at Roadrunner Elementary.

The staff monetary awards of $5,000 were sponsored by Chasse Building Team, CORE Construction, and BWS Architects.

The following Marana Unified School District Alumni were inducted into the Hall of Fame of their respective high schools.

  • Nancy Milstead Criss – Marana HS alumni
  • Barney Holtzman – Marana HS alumni
  • Niki Melchiori – Mountain View HS alumni;
  • Danielle Cruz Schroeder– Mountain View HS alumni;

The 2340 Foundation awarded scholarships to the 11 MUSD graduating seniors listed below:

  • Marana High School:  Hailey Albert, Courtney Coronado, Trevor     Rickus, Riley Thorsrud, Emma Tweedy
  • Mountain View High School:  Diego Bustamante, Shareese Crump, Selena     Hopkins, Shea Oliver, Marissa Robles
  • MCAT High School: Chloe Chesnut

Students from the Mountain View High School orchestra, under the direction of Terry Alexander, performed during registration. The National Anthem was performed by Marana High School choir students. The Marana High School choir is under the direction of Sarah Ross.

The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation hosted our second annual Celebration of Excellence luncheon on March 13, 2015. The event was held at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain.

In keeping with the 2340 Foundation’s commitment to support the outstanding work being done in the Marana Unified School District (MUSD), the event recognized student academic achievement and employee excellence. Dan Marries, KOLD-Tucson News Now anchor, acted as Master of Ceremonies.

Staff monetary awards of $5,000 were sponsored by Chasse Building Team, CORE Construction, and a community partner who wished to remain anonymous.

A $2,500 scholarship was awarded to each of the eight MUSD high school seniors listed below. Scholarship eligibility includes the student having been enrolled in the Marana district, kindergarten through 12th grade.

Marana High School: Benjamin Davis, Julia Don, Jordan Wengert, Jubal Wilder

Mountain View High School: Tyler Oliver, Kaili Richards, Carlos Weiler, Chloe Wilberg

 The following Marana Unified School District alumni were inducted into the Hall of Fame of their respective high schools.
